Our verge flail mowers have been designed for efficient cutting both behind and beside the tractor. Suitable for both pastures and forest tracks with saplings. With the hydraulic side shift adjustment, you can easily cut ditch edges, median strips on roads and other places that are difficult to reach. The verge flail mowers are equipped with SKF bearings on the roller, openable rear flap, adjustable support roller, tiltable cutting head and hydraulic side shift adjustment. Robust machines for those of you who demand a little extra from your machine.
Our WKL140 verge flail mower has a robust and powerful design and a working width of 1.4 m. Customised for 40-70 hp tractors. The gearbox has a freewheel for gentle shutdown of the mower. The mower has counter bar in the chassis to break up the grass more effectively.
Adjustable support roller and chain guards
The cutting height is adjusted by the support roller and skids. The adjustable support roller guarantees a correct cutting height on uneven ground. The cutting height can be adjusted between 0-120 mm, enabling you to cut the grass close to the ground and thus achieve a more level result. The grass is evened out and the remnants moulder away faster. The support roller has a scraping iron to keep the roller free from cut material.
The front of the verge flail mower is fitted with chain guards that adapt to the substrate and protect both the tractor and the surroundings from stone chipping and grass spray.
The verge flail mower is fitted as standard with hammer flails. There are 18 flails in total, ensuring that the grass is broken up. The mower is also adapted for Y-flails, which can be purchased additionally (not included). Here you can read more about Y-flails.
Hydraulic side shift adjustment and openable flap
The hydraulic side shift adjustment enables you to shift the machine to the right. The maximum side shift adjustment of the machine is 294 cm to the right from the mid-point of the tractor. The side shift adjustment means that you can cut at the side of your tractor and thereby reach ditch edges and the median strip of roads, which would otherwise be difficult to reach. The hydraulic side shift adjustment enables you to drive with just one pair of wheels in the uncut area and cut closer to ditches, fences, etc.
The mower has an openable flap. You open the flap when you know you are cutting or topping ground that generates a higher flow of material. This enables you to drive freely under the same conditions as with a closed flap and a normal flow of material. You save on fuel and reduce wear on the belts, and you can also operate at a higher speed, as the grass does not become twisted around the roller. The grass is also spread more evenly.
The verge flail mower's chassis is made of 4 mm thick steel, and the side plate is 6 mm thick.
The machine's cutting head can be angled 90° upwards and 60° downwards.
The verge flail mower is supplied with PTO drive shaft, transmission oil and hydraulic hoses as standard.
The mower requires two double-acting hydraulic outlets on the tractor. The verge flail mower is supplied with four hydraulic ½ inch, quick coupling male hoses.
