GOOD RATING IN TEST FOR YARD HARROW
The GH2UG yard harrow is one of Kellfri’s best-sellers. During the summer, it has been out on a test farm for a thorough evaluation ahead of future updates. The harrow earns praise – and, as requested, development suggestions.
"I use the harrow a lot, to harrow the paddock and rake the courtyard. A paddock requires a lot of care, and I’ve used 100-tine harrows here before. It’s been fun to try out a smarter, more modern model,” says Christina Nyström at Willands Farm.
She believes that the harrow meets her needs in terms of working width and traction power.
"I want to be able to use my small garden tractor to drive into corners better than I would with an ATV or a proper tractor. On paper, the garden tractor is probably just a bit too small, but the harrow is so easy to pull that it works well."
Christina likes the fact that you can put extra weight on the harrow. But that’s not something she needs, as she's not driving on tightly compacted material, but she has tried it out and thinks it worked well.
Ease of handling
The harrow has a simple design and is, according to Christina, very easy to assemble. In terms of care and maintenance, all you need to do is hose it down with a garden hose and lubricate the height adjustment crank with a little grease as required.
"The only thing I had to think about at the beginning was how I wanted to adjust the sections in relation to each other. After setting up the three functions for the right height, it does a really great job. It’s nice to be able to adjust the height easily, the way I use the harrow is a big advantage."
Questions about product development
In connection with the test assignment, Kellfri asked about possible product development, for example whether there is a need to be able to adjust the height of the harrow electrically.
"Height adjustment is so easy with the crank, I think electrical assistance would be superfluous. On the other hand, I’d probably suggest some form of quick coupling, perhaps pins instead of bolts, to adjust the front harrow’s cutting edge. And maybe a piece of steel on the side that can pull in substrate from the edge, but it only takes me 20 minutes once a month to do that job manually, so not having it isn’t a problem. Product development isn’t just about whether you want to change something, but also about whether it’s important.”
Recommends the harrow
"Compared to other harrows, I think it’s extremely affordable. I’m particular about getting value for money and the right quality for my needs. This harrow meets the requirements really well, with a good price/quality ratio. I’ve already recommended the harrow to another farm owner who was asking for advice about maintaining a paddock,” concludes Christina
